#SecondHandSeptember is a campaign led by Oxfam, the well-known charitable organisation working to end global poverty, asking people to give up buying new clothes for the month of September in the hopes of raising awareness of some of the extreme issues within the current textile industry such as the greenhouse gas emissions and the poor treatment of garment workers.

The campaign launched with a photoshoot showcasing some of the clothes and outfits that already exist in Oxfam's world, modelled by supermodel Stella Tennant and her daughter Iris, both committed to the cause for the month of September and beyond. Shot by photographer Tom Craig and styled by Oxfam’s Senior Independent Fashion Advisor Bay Garnett, all the outfits are from Oxfam's retail shops and online store.
“I’ve worked in the fashion industry for 25 years and it’s clear to me that nowadays we all have to think a lot harder about how we consume. The fast fashion industry is unsustainable, but we can slow it down by buying more second-hand clothes." Stella Tennant
