Re:Centre, perched behind some of Hammersmith's most tranquil residential streets, next to iconic Italian frequented-by-royals restaurant River Café and overlooking the Thames, is a conscious yoga lover's dream. The studios are temporarily closed, but £5 online classes are now available to book, offering a necessary and well deserved element of refined mindfulness into your lockdown situation.

The centre, which offers a weekly programme of yoga classes, caters to suit a wide range of needs, wants, dislikes, likes, abilities and ages, hosting themed classes teaching skills such as barre and breathwork, 'anti-desk yoga' and 'wake up & flow', pregnancy yoga and foundations for beginners. The centre is a vision of contemporary minimalism in white with light wooden features dotted with soft, sumptuous grey cushions and matching yoga accessories. But the clean interior design isn't an insinuation of an unfriendly or clinical atmosphere; far from it. The friendly receptionists, buzzing vegetarian café serving food made with locally sourced ingredients and serving quality coffee to give a little 'zing' if leaving a class tired, and the cosy chill-out area by the lockers for resting before and/or after a class are thoughtful touches that come together to give Re:Centre an intimate atmosphere that stays with you after long the class is over.

The centre's core values seem to match with those of their clients. The ethos is all about balance, connection with oneself and with nature, reflection, and making sure guests leave the venue with a sustained feeling of mindfulness. Classes are designed to leave guests feeling realigned with themselves and with the world around them, seamlessly aided by the centre's location, on a secluded and serene part of the Thames. This vision, or modern manifesto, is easily discovered when visiting. Re:centre is unique, full of little quirks like the petite courtyard out back and the adult-friendly slide winding from the top tier to the reception, and is welcoming to all who come through its doors.
